Jean-Paul Cottet

Jean-Paul Cottet started his career in France Telecom/Orange in 1980 leading Network Operations Division of South of France. In 1982 he was in charge of launching the new telematics service Minitel. After a short period of time as policy officer/chargé de mission at Commissariat Général au Plan reporting to the Prime Minister, then as special advisor at Poste et Télécommunications Minister Office, he was appointed head of the “Seine et Marne” operations division. From 1992 to 1995, he was in charge of the France Sales Division, then he built-up the SOHO/SME Division. In 1996, he led the IPO of France Telecom at Paris and New-York Stock Exchange. Appointed to the Executive Committee of the group as General Secretary in charge of Public Relations, Communication and Regulation, in 2003 he became head of the International Division of France Telecom/Orange, and also CIO of the Group. From 2006 to 2008, he was in charge of the Field Interventions and Networks Division in France and then led the French B2B market division. In 2010, he was appointed to France Telecom/Orange Group Executive Committee, as Senior Executive VP for Group Marketing & Innovation, and Contents Activities. In 2013 he became Personal Advisor of Stephane Richard, Chairman and CEO of Orange. At the same time he was Chairman or Board member of several group companies abroad. Retired from Orange in 2016, he is now advisor for small and medium technology companies.

Jean-Paul is a graduate from Ecole polytechnique, Telecoms ParisTech. And Mines ParisTech, He is “Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite”.
