John M. Cioffi
CEO and Chairman of the Board, ASSIA

Dr. John Cioffi is a 30-year veteran of the DSL industry and sports numerous prestigious awards for his contributions to technology and industry. Prior to founding ASSIA in 2003, he served as founder, CTO and vice president of engineering at Amati before its acquisition by Texas Instruments. Dr. Cioffi held a tenured endowed professorship at Stanford University in the Department of Electrical Engineering from 1985-2009, where he is now an active Professor Emeritus with limited ongoing research efforts in broadband access. He has published over 400 papers and holds over 100 patents. Dr. Cioffi is a member of the United States National Academy of Engineering and an International Fellow of the United Kingdom Royal Society of Engineering. He is a winner of the The Economist Computing and Telecommunications Award (2010), IEEE Alexander Graham Bell Medal (2010), the IEEE Kobayashi Award (2001), and the Marconi Society's Marconi Prize (2006). He currently serves on the boards of Teranetics, ClariPhy, Vector Silicon, and Alto Beam. Dr. Cioffi holds a BSEE from the University of Illinois and a PhD in electrical engineering from Stanford University.

Assia Cioffi
Executive Vice President, ASSIA

Ms. Assia Cioffi is a founding Board member of the company in 2003 as well as the company’s namesake. She oversees all aspects of ASSIA’s appearance, including the company logo, Web site, shareholder, investor, board, and advisory board meetings, and functions worldwide. Ms. Cioffi created and fosters the company’s unique and beloved culture that emphasizes personal engagement, open communication among hard-working professionals, and an international, customer-focused orientation. Prior to ASSIA, she worked in a number of aesthetics positions in Paris, France. Ms. Cioffi holds the certificate of Esthéticiènne from École Internationale Élysées Marbeuf, Paris.

Ross Ireland
Independent Board Member

Ross Ireland spent 38 years at SBC Communications, most recently as senior executive vice president of services and CTO. In this capacity he was responsible for network planning and engineering, SBC Laboratories, procurement, real estate, the network staff groups, and for a short time IT. Mr. Ireland also ran six of the company’s national businesses, including SBC Long Distance, SBC Paging, SBC Operator Services, SBC Public Communications, SBC Video Services, and SBC Messaging. Mr Ireland retired in May 2004 after 14 years as CTO. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Neustar Incorporated, Matisse Networks, and AdTran Corporation. He is also a member of Accenture’s Communications and High Tech Advisory Board and is a retained advisor for Focus Ventures. Mr. Ireland studied engineering at City College of San Francisco and is a graduate of the Stanford Executive Program.

Doug King
Independent Board Member

Doug King is a Certified Public Accountant with significant experience in the accounting industry, including over 30 years of auditing experience at Ernst & Young LLP where he served in various capacities in multiple offices. Most recently, Mr. King served as the managing partner at the San Francisco office of Ernst & Young LLP from 1998 to 2002. Currently, Mr. King is a member of the Board of Directors, Chairman of the Audit Committee, and member of the Governance and Nominating Committee at Rackable Systems (NASDAQ: “RACK”); member of the Board of Directors, Chairman of the Audit Committee, and member of the Executive Compensation Committee at SJW Corp. (NYSE: “SJW”); and a member of the Board of Directors, Chairman of the Audit Committee, and a member of the Governance Committee at Fuel Systems Solutions (NASDAQ: “FSYS”).

Daniel T. Lee
General Manager, eBay Global Development Centers

Dr. Daniel Lee led research and product development centers in Shanghai, China and Chennai, India, for the global eBay platform. Before joining eBay in 2006, Dr. Lee served as the CTO of Yahoo! Inc. in North Asia. He has held a number of management positions, including Head of Imaging Technology at HP Labs and Director of R&D at HP’s Internet imaging operation, where he developed the HP OpenPix imaging products and the HP Photos hosting services. Dr. Lee worked in Japan from 1987 to 1993, initially as research supervisor at Advanced Telecommunications Research (ATR) focused on 3-D visual communications and then at HP Labs Japan, where he was a member of the founding management group. Dr. Lee also serves on the Board of Directors of Sun Wah - Pearl Linux Ltd., a software training and development company based in Hong Kong. Dr. Lee holds a BS (with Distinction) in electrical engineering from Cornell University and an MS and a PhD in electrical engineering from Stanford University.
